Discovery Science - Space Season IPM

Client: Discovery Europe
Producer: Vicky Laughton
Graphics: Maxwell Broughton

To advertise Space Season, Discovery Science asked me to create an IPM (in program message), having never done one before I did a little research as what might limit me and found this: vimeo.com/7440460, so thanks for the inspiration Guido! After mulling over the best space like thing that could be used, we decided that the NASA lunar module had, by far the most personality and would be the most space efficient... A Discovery Science lick of paint later and we had a product! (The background imagery is just for context and is a royalty free still from the lovely people at NASA)

Software: Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects

Discovery Science - Space Season Bumps

Client: Discovery Europe
Producer: Vicky Laughton
Graphics: Maxwell Broughton
Audio/Sound Design: Ed Railton

In the build up to and during Space Season, Discovery Science wanted to run a countdown from 1 to 10 (see "1" in sequence) to drop between programs. In addition they wanted to have Coming Soon and Tonight bumps to pop in to the schedule during Space Season. The Space Season "badge" was a pre-existing element, the rest is all original content. See below for numbers 10 - 2.

Thanks to NASA for all the royalty free imagery and the cosmos for being a but mysterious and allowing my imagination to go a bit wild!

Software: Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects + Video Copilot Optical Flares (lots and lots of them) Also, if you look very, very carefully, you might see JoelOtron(Joel Dublin)'s "Microfloaties" being used as space dust!

Apocalypse

For a promo about 2012 and the planet's apparent destruction I was asked to create an over the top, Michael Bay-esque piece of text. Reach for Action Essentials and Optical Flares! Tacky, but fun!

Quick Clock!

A quick watch cogs render from Cinema 4D. *Work in progress. Focal pull added in after effects with mild colour correction and glow for good measure.

Maxwell Broughton - Showreel 2011

This is the 2011 cut of my professional motion graphics showreel. A general improvement all round compared to last years cut. Lots more exciting projects and clients, fingers crossed the 2012 cut will be even bigger and better!
